ideas for a birthday party for a 2-year-old? 2 Years, 9 Months ago
My son will be 2 next month and we're trying to decide where to have his birthday party. Not looking to do anything too extravagant, but our apartment isn't really big enough for his friends, their parents, and our family. We're expecting about 5 kids between 1 and 5. Any suggestions for a fun, affordable birthday party for someone his age?

Hi Sarah

When my son turned two we just did a glorified playdate - friends, family, cake, gifts and balloons, and everyone was happy! (Especially me, since it was easy!) But we had the space for it. Maybe you could split it, and have a playdate during the week with his friends and parent (and if the weather is good go to the playground and have a picnic?), and then have the family celebration separate? I'm sure he wouldn't mind having two parties, heh.

Have fun whatever you do!

We decided to hold the party at the Tree House Cafe in Sackville, our son had a blast when we brought him there, and the price for a party ($110 for the basic party) is very reasonable compared to some of the other places we looked into.

Our second choice would have been Cole Harbour place, you can rent an area for the party, which includes a bouncy castle, for $30/hour.

Ah, Tree House is great, agreed - he will have a great time! And nice and easy for you - no mess, woo hoo!
