Tickle Trunk Playgroup.. and more 4 Years, 4 Months ago
I posted this on the Discovery center one and ten wondered if that was the right place for it... so here it is again. Pardon my redundancy!
We love the Museum of Naturak History and just today we finally did the Bean Sprout Cafe. Fun!! Comfy, great playplace and we all got hot choc and snacks for $10.
I also enjoyed On The Grow's indoor playground but found it a bit pricey.
The tickle trunk playgroup is our fav and a weekly must-go. Tons of toys, snacks and beverages for adults, snack and crafts for kids..songs and stries too!! It's at Weir field and $4 for mommy and 1 kid. Too fun! Please note, although no boardcode and smiley buttons are shown, they are still useable

Where is Weir field? Is that the one out in upper Sackville? Where is the building where they hold the playgroup?
I agree that On The Grow is expensive. We have two kids and a third on the way. If it was cheaper we'd drop in to do something fun for the kids while we're out shopping in Bayers lake, but I can't justify $12 or $16 for a forty minute drop-in.
Re:Tickle Trunk Playgroup.. and more 4 Years, 4 Months ago
Hey!
It is out Sackville Drive, past Berry Hill. The building is on the left with a big Weir Feild sign. It takes me 10 mins from Sackville. Thursdays 9:00 to 11:00am. Let me know if you want an escort.. lol. I have 3 kids so I know what you're going through! Congrats on the new baby to be!!! I am jealous!

The "Ice Cream Church" in Sackville... not it's name I know... but it's what we call it.. .in Millwood has it's indoor playground Wednesday mornings and when I went a while ago they were going to start making it Wednesday and Thursday morning. I am not sure if that happened because we have been too busy to get back.

Hi everyone,
I have heard of the Tickle Trunk playgroup, but didn't realize they were so organized and even have structured activities. That is cool. I am going to check them out as soon as our Thursday playgroups at LeBrun Center are over.
I didn't like On The Grow. It's not just the money. I am willing to pay money if the place is worth it. That place is not worth it. All they did is find a place and equip it with good stuff. But there is no structured activities or even an attempt to have anything structured. I went there twice and both times it felt like I was being ripped off. There was no value really.
My name is Anara. I am a stay-at-home mom to one 2-year old son. We live in Hammonds Plains.

Hey Anara!
Well the Tickle Trunk is awesome.. and I am even baking the Mommy treats for tomorrow so.. yummm!!
The VINEYARD in Sackville does have two "Indoor playground" Days and they are Wednesday and Thursdays from 9-11.
It is 2$ for the first child and 1$ for each other child.
There are no structured activities but there is an art corner and there are books, but mostly it's where my kids go to spend 2 hours chasing each other around all of the big plastic playthings and driving all of the big plastic cars, trucks, tractors and such. It has everything and other than the library you can't beat it!
We used to go to the library's preschool drop-in in Sackville on Thursdays from 10-11. It's good and free!
Anyone who is thinking of going to the TICKLE TRUNK tomorrow or anytime I am the one with the cutie in pigtails and the baby who will fall asleep in my sling at some point... heheh
Re:Tickle Trunk Playgroup.. and more 4 Years, 4 Months ago
Hah, Lisa, when I read your post I thought you said you'd be the one in the cute pigtails! Not that there's anything wrong with pigtails - I wish I could pull off that look!
You are becoming my Sackville goddess! Do you have any contact details for the Vineyard? I admit I haven't a clue what it is, which is probably pretty bad since I used to live in Sackville (though that was 10+ years ago, in my defence!)! Sounds like a good one for the activity calendar though!
They also have an amazing cafe with OMG good homemade bread, lattes.. hot chocolate and yummy stuff!
During the warmer months they have all of their big plastic playthings outside and they sell tons of ice cream flavours but during these cold months they have what they call an indoor playground every Wed and Thurs morning 9-11. 2$ first kid, 1$ each additional kid.
Re:Tickle Trunk Playgroup.. and more 4 Years, 4 Months ago
Ooooh, thanks so much! I'll get in touch with them when I get back from my vacation (I'm still working a bit while I'm gone but trying to keep it to the essentials).

From what I understand you need to register for this one? I used to have it in the calendar but then after talking to Bayers Westwood moved it out since the calendar is mainly for drop-ins and they were asking people to register. Do you just drop-in?

Great minds - I just put that one in the calendar the other day - here's the details!

I enrolled my oldest daughter to a class called Mom and Tot at Lebrun Center. It is a structured class any day of the week from 9:15 to 11:15.Its for ages 18 months to three years. You do have to register for this class and there is a fee as H.R.M puts it on.I enrolled my daughter in it and now my son goes. Both really enjoy it.I believe it's worth looking into.
