Stroller advice 1 Year, 7 Months ago
Hi all

I'm looking for my dream stroller:

- good in snow and slush (we don't have a car so I want to be able to walk distances in bad weather)
- lightweight, not big and bulky
- $500 or under
- doesn't need an infant seat attachment to make it suitable from birth

Any advice? We had a Maclaren Techno for Alex which was perfect for our needs when we lived in London, but sucks in the snow!

We will be using a sling as well, and so strollers that are good from 6 months up are probably fine for us and we could sling until then, but one that's good from birth would be a useful bonus.

Thanks, O Wise Ones!

no specific advise but the larger the wheels the better, but I guess you've probably already worked that one out?

I use a maclaren, it is fine on smooth surfaces but as soon as there is any texture to the ground, it is pants.

Baby Jogger City Mini - has yet to let me down. Excellent for 6mos and up, not from birth though. Lightweight jogging stroller. Easy folding. About $300. tummiestotots in sells them and ships for free.

Thanks! Yes, bigger wheels the better, but trying to find a compromise on that so it's not too big and bulky (to take on bus etc)! Ack!

Nini - notice that the City Mini only has 8 inch wheels - are they OK in the snow?

In case anyone else is curious, I posted this on the Facebook fan page for HRM Parent and there's been lots of responses: http://www.facebook.com/hrmparent
