Let me start with, I'm pretty hippie but... have you thought about planting a tree for him? We buy trees every year from the Ecology Action Centre to correspond with our sons age, they plant them and they're only ten dollars each.

I've always thought that kids birthdays were more for the parents anyway.
Please note, although no boardcode and smiley buttons are shown, they are still useable
