something fun and different to do this weekend 1 Year, 5 Months ago
We're looking for something different and fun to do with our son and a friend or two of his this weekend. We've done Shubie, Oaklawn, and Upper Clements Park already this year. We did the Trecothic Creek railroad, too, but DS didn't want to ride the trains. I'm thinking there has to be a few more things like Trecothic Creek around the province that we've never heard of but would be lots of fun for the kids.

Ideas?

Hi Sarah - sorry, just seeing this now! Did you find something to do? One suggestion for today is the Hatch Day party for Gus at the Museum of Natural History - it's from 1-4pm - not a day trip type thing, but could be fun.

There used to be a model train you could visit in Dartmouth - Georges Model Trains - 802 MAIN ST. (Hwy 7) - not sure if it's still there but don't know why it wouldn't be.

I know a few people who go to Greenwood Mall in the valley for their entertainment centre - indoor playground, bouncy castle, etc - here's a _link_ here - it's indoors, which is a bit of a shame on a nice summer day, but maybe you could combine it with some outdoor valley fun!

The provincial museums are fun - Ross Farm is nice to get out of the city but isn't too far, and you spend the time outside walking around and exploring, seeing animals, etc. Here's the _link_ here.

And of course there's all the beaches, lakes, etc to explore!

Hope you found something fun to do this weekend!

We ended up going to Bayswater Beach on Saturday. Sadly the fresh water stream that usually runs through the beach was half dried up and full of e. coli so the kids couldn't play in it, but it was a beautiful day and we had lots of fun anyway. Sunday we took a trip to Oaklawn, our 3rd or 4th of the year

I've bookmarked the _link_s you sent, I didn't realize there were so many museums around, so there's some definite possibilities there.
