Feedback re daycares in Dartmouth 1 Year, 6 Months ago
I am wondering if anyone has any opinion about the Adventurer's Daycare in Burnside? It is one of the daycares that I am considering because I work in Burnside. I have an upcoming tour and thought I would see if anyone has any feedback for me before I go. The other daycare I am looking at is The Growing Place in Woodlawn...any thoughts would be greatly appreciated Thanks

you know back a few years ago when I was looking for childcare for my daughters in burnside, I came across adeventurers and must admit it was in a fantastic location but upon visiting I wasn't comfortable leaving my children there. I didnt like the way things were set up expecially the infants sleeping room which seems more like a closet then anything so I didnt go with it becuase my gut instinct which i am so glad I didnt now because i have had quite a few friends tell me stories about that place. I wont go into to much detail but it definitly wouldnt be a choice of mine now that i know what I know. i have had a few friends call and complain about that place. alot of rules broken from what I hear. if i were you I would stick with the growing place or even look for childcare ads on kijji. hope this helps

We looked at Adventurers as my husband work in Burnside and it was very conveniently located for us. There were a number of things there that made us very uncomfortable, including the general hygiene of the establishment. Also they take the children on excursions outside of the day care property which made us extremely uncomfortable as we have since seen the teachers and children walking on the side of the road where there are no sidewalks and large trucks driving by in very close proximity. We decided to go with another day care in Burnside and have been extremely pleased with our decision.

Thanks for both of your feedback. It is so hard to know and I haven't been there to see the place yet but it sounds like it won't be up my alley either Do you mind me asking what daycare you ended up going with in Burnside?
