Sunday Morning Activities? 1 Year, 11 Months ago
I am looking for something to do with toddlers on a Sunday morning in HRM.

I was hoping to find an indoor playground or a swim open, but I am not having any luck.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

Off the top of my head for Sunday mornings...

- there's a family swim at Dartmouth Sportsplex at 10:30am
- I think the Fun Zone at Dalplex is open - most indoor playgrounds close on Sundays for parties - anyhow, info on Fun Zone is here.

Not much I can think of straight away though! I'd never noticed what a slow time Sunday mornings are!

Anyhow, hope that helps. And hopefully other people will have some ideas!

Charmaine

I would have never thought of Sunday mornings as being a lag time either, especially in the Winter when outdoor activities can be limited. But that probably has to do with the fact that Sunday Mornings is one of my most social and busy times of the week (I run a children's program at my Church). It's probably for that exact reason that almost everything else doesn't run until Sunday Afternoon. I like the Airport Idea, and going for a 'Ferry Ride' could be a fun option too. When your options are limited you gotta start thinking outside the box and getting creative. Good Luck!

Yes, I guess we are all just a religious bunch!

Kat, I posted your question on HRM Parent's Facebook fan page. The responses were:

- watch Coronation Street
- parent and tot swim at the spryfield pool, 12-1 i think (I don't have this in our calendar at the moment so I can't confirm)
- I know some pools offer swim lessons on Sunday mornings.
- Visit the airport! Mom and Dad can grab a coffee while the little ones play at the treehouse near the security gate and watch the planes take off from the observation deck upstairs.
- Soccer at citadel high rec center 10-1045, you need to register though...soooo much fun for the kids & parents! OR Chapters to play with the train table OR spryfield library has a great play area for toddlers!

We ended up going to Local Joe's on Oxford st. There is a small play area (think doctor's office) but lots of other 2 and 3 year olds to play with. Real happening spot on a Sunday morning - mostly because there is nothing else much going on.

Library play area won't be open Sunday morning. Libraries are only open Sundays 2-5 from Labour Day to Victoria Day. Wave Pool parent and tot swim is a great place to go on Sunday mornings though, we used to go regularly.
