Public transport Lots and lots! Any bus that goes down Robie, Bell or Cogswell will get you the closest - click here for more details.
Nearby Lots of shops and restaurants on Quinpool or Robie, or walk to Spring Garden and enjoy the Public Gardens along the way! The Museum of Natural History is just across the street. Not far from the waterfront either.

Notes: Lots to do here! Two main play structures - one for big kids, one for little kids. Lots of slides and climbing activities, wobbly bridge, tunnel, etc. Big freestanding climbing structure, monkey bars, play jeep. Swings, including baby swings. Next to outdoor pool and spray pool, open in summer. Skate park and basketball court. Not fenced in.

Don't take a 1-2 year old here. Lots of kids with tiny shards of broken glass under structures. Parking is also a bust.

While I agree that the playground is excellent due to the location (near the high school and the north end)you do have to be careful...the spray pool almost always has broken glass in it that does not get swept out before they turn the sprinklers on.

Excellent playground and very popular. My only request would be for the city to plant a few more trees in area. There's not much useful shade anywhere close to the structures. (BTW I appreciate the list of playgrounds on this website. Very useful when we want to take our 2-year-old to a different spot for a change).
