Details: All ages. The Chebucto Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Christopher Palmer, is excited to present a special matinee concert for families as part of its winter season. The repertoire is designed to take listeners away from cold city streets and into a rural setting. It will include selections from Larsson’s Pastoral Suite, Mozart’s Horn Concerto #3 in E Flat Major featuring soloist Michael Chisolm, and Beethoven’s Sixth Symphony (of Fantasia fame).
During the concert, young listeners will have the opportunity to learn about the sounds of various instruments and the role of the conductor. Max Kasper of Symphony Nova Scotia will join us for the afternoon as emcee, and will guide the audience through some listening activities in between and before the pieces. One brave audience member will even have the chance to conduct the orchestra!
The performance will be held on Saturday March 6th at 2:00 pm at St. Matthew’s Church on Barrington Street.
Tickets are $5 at the door. |
