Details: On race day 10,000 tagged rubber ducks will launch from Bishop's Landing and into a race track built from oil booms in the Halifax Harbour. The first three adopted ducks to cross the finish line will win their adoptive parents prizes.
The Halifax Duck Derby is operated by and in support of the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia.
Ducks can be adopted individually for $10.00 or a flock of three ducks for $25.00.
Ducks can be adopted on http://www.halifaxduckderby.ca by clicking the Adopt a Duck button, at any BMO Bank of Montreal Branch throughout HRM and at the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia by calling 902-422-7961 (in HRM) or 1-800-611-6345 (throughout NS).
Race day activities:
12:00 - FREE Kids Zone and BMO Adoption centers open.
12:30 - Best Dressed Quacker Winner Announced.
1:00 - V.I.D. Race- The Duck Cup is up for grabs.
1:30 - FREE Kids' Duck Costume Contest (12 years and under).
2:00 - Halifax Duck Derby - 10,000 rubber ducks race.
2:30 - Winners are announced. |
