Be active

Leapfrog/Leapbear
You need: teddy bears of various sizes, large cushions

Jump, jump, jump! (Hey! Jumping is an important skill, honest!)

For the first activity, place a teddy bear on the floor for your child to practice jumping over. When they've mastered that, line up two or more teddy bears, or place the teddy bears on top of each other, to up the stakes a bit.

The second activity is probably safest on carpet or non-slippery surfaces. Place large cushions (we use the ones from our sofa) on the floor in varying distances from each other. Encourage your child to jump from one to another, pretending to be a frog or kangeroo or whatever jumping animal they'd like!

Recommended age: 18 months and up, with supervision | Read more...
